March 4 -- Healthy Babies are Worth the Wait -- We'll talk with a spokesperson from the March of Dimes about its comprehensive initiative to prevent preventable preterm birth, with a focus on reducing elective deliveries before 39 weeks gestation.
March 11-- College Talk -- How to help your child with their college search, determine the number of colleges to visit and apply to, understand the application process, evaluate colleges, and deal with the inevitable rejection. We'll talk with local educational consultant Carl "Sandy" Behrend. We will also discuss an upcoming event that should be on your college-bound child's calendar (and yours!)
March 18 -- Dealing With Adult Children Who "Fail To Launch" -- There's a growing number of young adults who never moved out of their parents home -- or have returned. For this show, we'll talk with Dr. Shoshana Bennett, clinical psychologist, author and keynote speaker, who will offer tips and advice on how to set home ground rules and expectations, avoid feeling resentful or frustrated, and work towards launching your adult child into the world.
March 25 -- Keeping Families Safe While Home or Away -- Before you head out of town, to an amusement park, museum or even the local mall, make sure your children understand the basic rules of safety including what to do if they are separated from you. Do you have an emergency plan? Do you know what your kids are wearing and have a recent photo of them? Are cell phones charged? Do you have a meeting spot? Ed Suk, executive director, NY, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), will discuss these and other procedures that should be in place to ensure your family's safety.
